Item Description
15" tall high quality doll made by the Grand Dame of Disney doll designers Charlotte Clark. This doll comes from a member of the Clark family whom the doll was given to by Mrs. Clark. This particular doll is from the 1940s but was never manufactured in this exact style, rather a very similar Donald doll was designed by Charlotte Clark for Gund in the 1940s. Velveteen stuffed body w/satin legs, feet and bill, corduroy hat and jacket w/four mother-of-pearl buttons. Has four separate stitched tail feathers. Oilcloth eye accents. Nicely stitched detailing including eyebrows and mouth line. Although no longer attached, comes w/.5"x2" Charlotte Clark fabric tag which bears copyright. White areas of doll have evenly aged. Slight trace of blue color fade to jacket and hat. However, doll remains structurally sound w/very little wear aside from aging and a few insect holes to felt on underside of feet. Stands upright and still VF for display. An exceptional doll.
