Item Description
Lot of 14. A set of 12 was issued in 1935 around the time of the first issue of the magazine published by Hal Horne, that hit the stands in the summer of that year. Each features a different character w/dotted line below marked "Cut Here" and below is coupon numbered 1 through 12. Additional text reads "For A Complete Set, Numbers 1 to 12, You Will Receive Free A Copy Of The Mickey Mouse Magazine/The Hostess Cake Salesman" followed by coupon number. This lot has 10 of the 12 plus four duplicates. Four cards have intact coupons: #2 Minnie, #4 Pluto, #6 The Goof, #12 Giddy Goat. Trace of aging, EX/NM. The other 10 cards have the coupon neatly clipped at dotted line and these are: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Horace, The Goof, Wise Little Hen, Mickey's Nephew, Max Hare, Toby Tortoise, Giddy Goat. Goof card has slight left margin trim. Others display as EX/NM overall. The two cards not in this lot are #3 Donald Duck (see item #1264 for this card) and #7 Clara Cluck. Only once before in our 53 years have we offered cards from this set. A true rarity for Disneyana and Non-Sports card collectors.
