Item Description
Pair of 6" dia. by 2" deep tins have removable lids. Tiny text on lid notes "By Permission Of Walt Disney (Mickey Mouse) Ltd." 1930s. Tins most likely held candy or biscuits/cookies. One lid features image of Donald Duck serenading Donna Duck (before she was renamed Daisy) while they ride burro. Sides feature silver luster illustrations of Donald and Donna as well as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Horace Horsecollar, Clara Cluck and Elmer Elephant. Lid has shows moderate wear in the form of a few minor dents, small paint flakes and spots of lt. oxidation. Sides show less wear. Interior and underside of lid retains much bright silver flashing while underside of tin has lost some flashing. VG/Fine. Second tin features lid image of Donald painting portrait of Mickey. Sides feature different silver luster illustrations depicting many Silly Symphony characters. Lid has a few small paint flakes and a spot or two of discoloration. Sides show just some lt. rim wear and are o/w bright and clean. Interior and underside of lid retain much bright silver flashing while underside of tin has moderate loss of flashing. Fine overall.
