Item Description
English version from 1933. Both box and clock are quite different from US version. Box features a totally different image of Mickey Mouse on lid, while sides feature same repeated character images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. Box has had moderate touch-ups and restoration to one side panel as that corner has been reglued. Additional touch-ups around top edges, but main lid image remains complete and original. Box is VG overall but still nice for display purposes. Box is rare. Clock face image Mickey is quite different from US version and what many do not know is that like Ingersoll's Mickey Mouse pocket watch and wristwatch, these English clocks also were produced w/two visually distinct faces; the example offered here is the more classic Mickey image, featuring a totally different head/face design and w/the omission of accents lines by his legs. Both versions feature animated hands and pair of Mickey images of second hand disc in running pose w/rather long legs. As compared to the US issue, three sides feature same multi-character strip which is complete but noticeably aged including some dark stain spotting. Painted case has scattered wear and is Fine. Clock face remains bright, clean and Exc. Works. Rare as boxed. Comes w/4-1/8x8.25" die-cut cardboard sign for store advertising display. Sign features full body image of Mickey and has "Reproduced With The Consent Of Walter E. Disney - This Showcard Printed And Made In England" text. Mickey has professional repair at ear and touch-up to 3/8" spot on chest. Both are not distracting and only noticeable upon close inspection. Displays VF. Rare, our last example sold for $476 on its own.
