Item Description
This large 7.5" tall (11.75" to top of raised handle) tin litho sand pail's design (based on examples we have sold in the past and the example seen in Doug and Pat Wengel's book "Comic Character Metal Sand Toys") is supposed to feature the following images - Mickey and Minnie Mouse (who yells out window that food is ready), Pluto pulling Donald Duck in wagon, spinning Goofy around. This factory error example is completely missing Mickey Mouse image. Some of these pails were produced w/large "Atlantic City" name on side, some were produced w/o. Pail was assembled correctly at top, and we are unsure how this obvious error passed factory inspectors. Pail has scattered rim wear w/some streaks of bare metal showing and handle edges also show wear w/some scattered oxidation. Interior shows scattered wear from use while exterior has some scattered paint nicks/scratches. Fine overall. Would make for an interesting and unique display next to the regular production model of this sand pail.
