Item Description
11x17" paper poster w/horizontal/vertical folds at center as issued. Poster features great image of Superman from the knees up, holding sign that reads "Help Smash The Axis." Poster was printed in Sept. 1942 by American Educators Wartime Council and has "© Superman, Inc." text by image. One of three similar but different war years posters printed in support of the US Treasury Department and the US Office of Education. Additional text reads "This School Proudly Participates" w/blank box provided for school's name at bottom, though this example remains unused. Some tiny creases along fold lines and single pin hole along lower left extreme margin, but o/w poster remains bright and clean. Back has "Monroe County School District" inkstamp and some dust soiling to one quarter. VF/Exc. Scarce. Impressive display piece.
