Item Description
15.25x20" glossy paper poster features interesting advertising poster that dates to 1941, before US involvement in the war as noted by the "Defense Bonds" text (which was altered to "War Bonds" upon involvement). Poster was issued by "Puck - The Comic Weekly," the Sunday comics section of the Hearst Newspaper chain. Poster features images of characters from "Bringing Up Father," one of the most popular comics of the time.  Jiggs, Maggie, daughter Nora and dog Fifi are shown along w/facsimile signature of creator George McManus. Folded as issued, poster shows moderate scattered handling wear and has pin holes at corners and along lower left/right margins and some creases along fold lines. Fine. Scarce poster.
