Item Description
6x13" embossed tin sign from the 1920s advertising "Exquisite Cherry Sparkle" soda. Sign is copyright the Crown Cork & Seal Co. Features illustration of Alfred E. Neuman-like character with bottle of soda in hand. "What-Me-Worry?" kid later became Alfred E. Neuman in MAD Magazine. Use of character here pre-dates magazine by as much as 60 years. Earliest known incarnation dates from the 1890s in advertising. Sign has minor handling wear, a few small creases to thin tin, which is mounted on cardboard as made to be hung. Some areas of luster loss, but sign remains overall glossy and a very nice display piece. VF. $500- $700
