Item Description
2.75x5x1" deep plastic box w/hinged lid contains watch w/1x1.25" dia. chromed metal case, the smaller of two designs. Both top and inside of lid originally featured design including image of Captain Marvel holding a fighter jet in one hand. Design on top of lid shows just lt. wear. Underside has flocked insert w/matching image and 1948 copyright. Exc. Case is VF overall and is complete w/flocked insert. Watch has original blue vinyl-covered leather bands and has original foil tag around upper band listing original purchase price of "$7.95" as well as listing "Captain Marvel" name. Complete w/"Tested And Commended By Parents' Magazine" string tag which shows some lt. wear. Comes w/original "Marvel Importing Corporation" guarantee paper which shows some aging/wear. VF. Bands have some aging and are VF overall. Case shows little to no wear and retains full luster. Exc. Dial remains clean and luminous material on numerals and hands still glows slightly. Exc. Watch winds and ticks a few seconds and just needs a simple cleaning to work properly. Works and is VF overall. Plastic case is much rarer packaging that the cardboard box.
