Item Description
Wonderful 7x11" first generation photo taken by local photographer w/"Shrader Photo" imprint at lower right. Photo shows large crowd of children standing in front of local "Rialto" movie theater. Standing at front center are nine movie theater club officers, all of whom wear official buttons, (see two previous items). Officers also all wear official club vests, w/boys and one woman sporting the matching fezzes while girls wear matching tams. One of the officers holds pole w/"Official Mickey Mouse Club - Chapter 160" banner while another holds American flag. Of note, front of theater has many lobby cards displayed. In a sign of the times, attached "Rialto Barber Shop" has "Colored Entrance" marked. Photo shows scattered handling wear, w/.75" tears at center left and lower right, which is above missing .75" corner piece. VG overall, but main image would display nicely if matted. Photo provides insight into the popularity of these Mickey Mouse Clubs sponsored by theaters as well as showing the excitement and attendance the clubs generated. Rare and first we've seen in our 53 years of any actual period photo of an assembled group like this, especially w/officers pictured.
