Item Description
16.5x22.75". Thin paper flag w/45 stars in a 8-7-8-7-7-8 pattern. Portraits of the 1896 Republican nominees w/slogan "Sound Money Protection And Prosperity" at bottom right. At bottom left is headline "Flag Day, Saturday Oct. 31st" w/a message from campaign manager "M. A. Hanna" requesting supporters display the flag "...In Order That Voters Who's Hearts Are For Their Country May Be Strengthened In Their Purpose..." A 4.5" by less than 1" horizontal hole at bottom left and a tiny hole at top left of canton. A pair of tiny paper chips along top edge and moderate handling. VG. Strong color make this a good candidate for professional conservation but would frame nicely as is.
