Item Description
10x14.5" on thin white stock. Designed by the British Ministry of Information this is one of three posters from the 'Home Publicity" series that included "Freedom Is In Peril Defend It With All Your Might" and the now iconic "Keep Calm And Carry On." The set was prepared in the summer of 1939 but only this and "Freedom Is In Peril Defend It With All Your Might" were distributed in early September upon the outbreak of war. Some 800,000 of these posters in 12 sizes were distributed in what was supposed to be a moral boosting campaign. The public reaction was poor and the British government decided to scrap most of the remaining posters. Horizontal fold affecting the third line of text, corner crease at bottom right and moderate handling wrinkles. Fine. A rare survivor.
