Item Description
Pair of 18" wide 13" long tin litho wind-up bombers w/built-in keys on undersides. Marx, 1940s. Two distinct versions, one has camouflage markings and four prop engines w/revolving metal propeller blades while other features "U.S. Army" green markings and only two prop engines w/revolving metal propeller blades. Camo bomber has black tin litho wheels w/red hubs and raised canopy between wings while Army bomber has brown tin litho wheels and lithographed gun. Both toys work well, but guns need new flints to spark. Both show some scattered wear from use, more moderate to camo bomber's wheels, which have trace oxidation. Plated propeller blades have evenly aged. Fine/VF overall. Nice pair illustrating two of the many varieties of this classic plane toy produced by Marx.
