Item Description
13.5x17.5" frame contains 1.5" tall metal badge which came in either brass or copper luster. This is brass version, 1941. Badge has been professionally double-matted and framed under actual vintage Golden Age comic book page featuring Captain America and his sidekick Bucky, explaining that the Captain America Sentinels of Liberty premium badges would no longer be made, the metal instead distributed for use in manufacturing ammunition, tanks, planes, guns and ships for Allied use during World War II. Ad also urges readers to use the 10¢ they would have used to obtain a badge to purchase war saving stamps. Pages is evenly aged and displays VF. Badge shows moderate surface wear, much of which is only noticeable upon close inspection. Still a Fine example and makes for wonderful display as professionally framed.
