Item Description
4.25" tall. Strawberry luster accents. A shackled African man seated on a beach w/a ship bearing the British flag in the distance. This transfer design was adapted from a Wedgwood plaque. The reverse is a quotation from a poem by William Cowper. Scattered and tiny dots of missing luster along top rim. Otherwise extremely clean w/only light wear. VF. Rare. An impressive example of the type of goods being produced around the British abolition movement in the 1820s and 1830s.
