Item Description
6x15x3.75" deep illustrated cardboard display box contains 12.5" tall "Posin' Doll." Part of a series of four released by Ideal, ©1967 NPP. Due to success of Ideal's "Captain Action" toyline, a line for girls was developed - "Super Queens." Series includes - Batgirl, Supergirl, Mera (Aquaman's wife, see item #1598) and Wonder Woman, who is offered here. Wonder Woman oddly enough comes w/the Captain Action Captain America shield, repurposed for this toy. Small separate bag w/bracelets and anklets included. Die-cut image of Wonder Woman's alter-ego "Diana Prince - Nurse" appears at bottom left corner. Box is still factory-sealed and has warp to left side panel w/2" creases at front center due to tightness of shrink-wrap. Upper right has strip of lt. tape staining. Back panel has 1.5x2.5" area of creasing at center left (affecting Batgirl image). Bottom side edge seams of shrink-wrap have .5" split/opening at left as sealed and 1.25" split at right, o/w box remains totally sealed. VF. Doll has tiny melt mark to thumb and first finger of one hand. Pair of metal pins used to secure Wonder Woman's tiara have oxidized. Originally secured within box w/strap, this is missing and doll is loose in box. Doll is o/w in choice, Exc. condition as packaged and colors are as bright as the day it was produced. The "Super Queens" line sold poorly and was canceled after just one series, making them quite rare. We have only offered two other boxed examples of the Wonder Woman Super Queens doll, both exceeding $4,000 each time.
