Item Description
A mate to the previous Dempsey button, also with Phila Badge paper but this also has spring pin holding cotton stuffed leather boxing glove as well as a short ribbon inscribed "Dempsey-Tunney Bout/Sesqui-Centennial Phila. Sept. 23, 1926". Glove has barely seen small leather split where back of thumb joins rest of the glove. Ribbon has 1/8" thin spot in fabric below "O" of "Bout" but not a hole. Button has faint air traces on blue rim as made but overall Exc, with no stain and high gloss. Paul Muchinsky Collection (but not his book example which shows stain and was de-acquisitioned when he acquired this better example).
