15x18" frame contains proclamation from the Governor of the State of Alabama naming James Brown an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel Aide de Camp in the Alabama State Militia due to his "Patriotism, Valor, Fidelity And Abilities." Document has been matted to 10.25x13.5" and is been dated Nov. 8, 1985 and was signed in black felt tip pen by then current Governor George Wallace as well as Major General William A. Hornsby, The Adjutant General. Document bears foil seal of the Adjutant General Office of the State of Alabama. Document has horizontal fold at center and shows handling wear and faint moisture at lower left. Fine. Ex Christies 2008 auction.
