Item Description
10.5" long hard plastic body Batmobile w/translucent plastic canopies (missing back portion of one) and painted figural Batman figure (missing Robin). Rubber tires (front passenger side wheel missing). Marx, ©1966 NPP, Inc. While produced at time of the popular Batman TV show, this Batmobile was made for the UK market only and differs from all US Batmobiles of the time, featuring a 1950s dream car styled body. Applied batsymbol stickers on doors have aged evenly and show some lt. scattered wear. .25" melt mark at bottom of driver's side door and 1-5/8" crack appears behind canopies. Plastic hubcaps have melted at edges. Friction mechanism works and produces siren noise. Despite issues, Batmobile still displays well from driver's side. Comes w/reproduction box for display purposes. Very rare and just the second example we've offered in our 54 years, the previous example offered in our last auction (also sold w/reproduction box), sold for $3,068.
