Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains elaborate 9" long tin litho toy w/built-in key featuring Joe Palooka's friend on three-wheeled bike that is designed w/back part resembling house, including opening back door. Wyandotte logo on roof. © Ham Fisher, 1950s. Box features reprints of Joe Palooka strips w/Humphrey as well as illustration of toy. Box is complete w/all flaps, grease pencil price on one end flap. Box has some lt. shelf wear and faint moisture staining to one main panel w/some scattered spots of staining to one side panel and minor coloring to Wyandotte logo. Still Fine/VF overall. Toy's winding mechanism works well, causing Humphrey's jointed legs to move as if peddling and his arm/hat to move up and down as he moves forward. House portion of vehicle is complete w/small plastic stovepipe on roof (usually missing). Toy has some trace oxidation on roof and has some scattered tiny paint nicks/scratches but is totally bright and glossy and remains Fine/VF.
