Item Description
Lot of 18 6x8.25" digest-sized French Le Fantome (The Phantom) comic books published by Editions Des Remparts, who began printing their Phantom comic series in 1963, continuing the series until 1980, ending w/issue #482.2. Lot includes issues #93-94 and #96-111. These 18 issues (and these 18 issues only) advertise a rare mail-away premium (issues #93-111). Premium keychain was available for 15 points (15 coupons) and each issue had "1 Point" coupon w/image of keychain on the back cover to be cut out; each coupon was numbered based on the issue number. (i.e. issue #93 had coupon #93). Issue #95 did not have the coupon and is not included in this lot. All comics have intact coupons and show scattered general wear w/pinch creases to spines, corner tip wear, etc. Issues grade Fine overall, w/some better, some slightly worse for wear. Comics come w/1" dia. cast metal double-sided keychain featuring high relief Phantom portrait on one side and Good Mark symbol on the opposite. This premium was offered exclusively through these French comics in 1966, and saw limited distribution. Some lt. scattered wear at bottom of both sides. Fine/VF overall. Rare and one of the most highly sought-after Phantom collectibles.
