Item Description
Large and impressive 32.5x71" glossy stiff paper poster features full body image of Spider-Man by Steve Ditko. Poster was advertised in issues of Marvel comics, beginning w/a teaser in Dec. 1965 issues w/a full reveal in Jan. 1966 issues, noting a purchase price of $1.99. Prior to this, it was offered to members of the Merry Marvel Marching Society at the end of 1965. This poster should not be confused w/the much smaller Personality Posters of 1966 that used the same image. This 1965 version is the only one w/"Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" facsimile signature at bottom. Poster is rolled and has been linen-mounted w/some professional restoration to white margin areas only by Poster Mountain. Spider-Man image features no restoration and remains bright and bold as printed. Poster has even aging and shows some scattered minor handling wear but o/w displays Exc. A highly sought after 1960s Marvel Mania item.
