Item Description
Original box w/illustrated lid contains 9.5" tall Gorilla w/attached specially designed tin litho remote control unit. King Kong-inspired toy made in Japan by Nomura, 1950s. Nicely illustrated box includes scene on one side panel of huge gorilla rampaging through a city as children flee. Lid is evenly aged and has some scattered creasing at corners. Scattered edge wear. Box is Fine overall. Gorilla is blonde color variety and has plush-covered body w/tin litho face and feet, celluloid hands. Remote control unit is decorated w/jungle scenes while lid has raised Gorilla image. Toy has some oxidation to interior of battery box and swing arm feature does not work. All other functions work intermittently and toy is sold as-is. Toy o/w shows only even aging to fur and slightest traces of wear. VF/Exc. Great design and action. Classic battery toy.
