Item Description
Lot of five cast iron single action/single-shot cap guns, produced c. 1890 to 1938. Long guns have raised names on one side of barrel, other three have raised names on both sides of frames above grips. Guns are as follows - 11.75" long Stevens Buffalo Bill is cast iron w/dark finish. c. 1890. has embossed designs/scrolling on both sides of grip as well as on hammer. 11" long Kenton Long Boy cast iron w/dark finish, c. 1922, has raised letter "K" and raised image of pirate captain on both sides of grip. 5" long Hubley Zip nickel-plated cast iron, c. 1930. 5.25" long Stevens Hero nickel-plated cast iron, c. 1937, has crossed hatched red plastic insert grips. 5 5/8" long Hubley Teddy nickel-plated cast iron, c. 1938. All guns work; Long Boy is a bit loose but still cocks and fires. Teddy is unfired and NM. Hero has lt. oxidation on interior of cap chamber and hammer face. Fine. Other three show signs of lt. use and are VF. Three of the guns in this lot - Long Boy, Buffalo Bill and Teddy are the actual examples shown in The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia by Ted Hake and come with COA.
