Item Description
EC. Dates are July 1955 through March 1960. Issues are #24 (first issue of "The New MAD" and first "What Me Worry?") through #53 for a total of 30 issues. Art by Kurtzman, Davis, Elder, Severin and others. Kelly Freas and Norman Mingo covers on many. Mad was a comic sized publication for the first 23 issues, then changed into magazine size w/issue #24. This change was to entice Kurtzman to stay on as editor and also freed the publication from the rules of the Comic Code Authority. Light overall aging, spine wear, minor creases, minor pen marks and other defects allowed by grade. All issues have nice eye appeal and average grade on group is VG+/Fine. Nice group of early issues featuring the best in satire and parody. From the Archives of Publisher Pete Millar.
