Item Description
Nice long-billed Donald Duck pair. These same bisques were produced in two sizes, these being the larger 4.5" tall size as opposed to the 4" versions (see previous lot). Made in Japan, 1930s. Donald playing accordion has incised number "S1131" on back. Donald playing violin has incised "S1130" on back. Both have "Japan" stamps on underside of feet. Accordion version has .75" hairline separation on face (by eye facing back and only noticeable when figure is viewed straight on) as fired and shows some scattered paint wear (mainly at corners of accordion) and is Fine overall. Violin version has paint wear to edges of bill and hat. Small dark spot on backside and some scattered dust soiling. Fine overall.
