Item Description
16x21" partially printed document. Roosevelt appoints "Winchester G. Lowell" as Postmaster in "Auburn In The County Of Androscoggin State Of Maine." Signed at bottom right "Theodore Roosevelt" in black steel tipped fountain pen ink. Ink has lightly faded and there is a 3.75" wide band of toning along right edge that affects signature. Seal at lower left has moderate wear and faint toning from the still present original blue silk ribbon. Otherwise a tiny edge chip along right edge and light handling wear. Fine. Signature is strong and legible and this will make for an impressive display piece once framed. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
