Item Description
Large and impressive 20" tall mostly felt doll w/wire armature for posing. Unmarked but most likely made in Italy, 1940s as doll was made in the style of Lars/Lenci Disney dolls and those of other Italian companies of the period. Doll is exquisitely detailed, featuring a much nicer outfit than Br'er Fox wore in Disney's 1946 live-action/animated feature Song Of The South. Doll wears pattern fabric shirt w/large felt bowtie and felt vest w/tailored checked felt pants topped off w/large floppy hat that sports several cut felt flowers as decorations. Br'er Fox's tail is constructed of many small strips of felt attached to wire armature tail. This has made small hole at top of one pants leg, but vest covers this. Tiny hole at bottom of vest's back. Doll is evenly aged but still VF. Rare and first we've seen in our 54 years.
