Item Description
8.5x11" w/18 pages in card stock wrapper. Reprints article by Jason Epstein and cartoons by Jules Feiffer originally published in The New York Review Of Books. Cover illustration of a gagged Seale who was bound and gagged on the order of Judge Hoffman for his protests of being denied his constitutional right to defend himself during the trial. Center spread has images of the Chicago 8; Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, David Dellinger, Tom Hayden, Rennie Davis, John Froines, Lee Weiner and Seale w/quote by Fred Hampton, Chairman Illinois Black Panther Party and partial text of an E. E. Cummings poem "But They Mean To Kill Us All." The group was charged w/inciting the riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Eventually Hoffman severed Seale from the trial, thus creating the Chicago 7. Only trivial age toning. NM. Mike Nichols Collection.
