Item Description
Lot of eight items, including rare variants for this specific year of issue. With World War II over, The Junior Justice Society of America club was discontinued (temporarily) in Dec. 1945, resulting in this version of the kit seeing more limited distribution. Mailing envelope was exclusive to this issue and features a different return address (225 Lafayette St., also seen on certificate and letter). Heavy wear w/tears on back. Good. Member letter has slightly different text from previous versions (but it does mention the patch) and is the only one to feature "An All-American Publication" logo at top corners. Exc. Embroidered fabric patch is 2x2.5". High grade, NM and as nice as these come. Certificate shows nine super heroes (down from 13 as on earlier versions), this being the first to feature both Wildcat and Mr. Terrific as well as larger images of The Flash and Green Lantern. Horizontal fold at center as mailed but certificate has not been filled out. VF. Decoder (also unused) features six different names from the earlier versions - Wildcat, Mr. Terrific, Black Pirate, Ghost Patrol, Blue Boys and Hop Harrigan. Faint 1" crease at top of back disc. VF. The war-related material includes - M.C. Gaines "Youth And The War Effort" brochure and "The Minute Man Answers The Call" four-page comic (both are updated versions w/1945 date change on next to last panel of back of comic) along w/"Defense Stamp Album" booklet. Both Gaines pcs. are VF, stamp booklet used, VG. A rare version of this kit as it was only used in 1945, and only part of that year.
