Item numbers 955 through 2671 in auction 190
Item Description
5x7.5x9.25” tall consisting of painted tin tricycle with wood Ignatz figure that has leather ears missing black color at bottoms. A version in Auction #182 had rubber-covered arms plus wire tail with wood tip. This version has thick tan rope arms and the wire tail is gone. Toy has attached original pull cord with wood ball on end. Decal on chest 100% complete and reads “Ignatz Mouse Copyright 1932 King Features Syn. Inc.” plus “J. Chein & Co.” with their NYC address. As pulled, Ignatz peddles. Generic nail holding left leg to body is replaced. Rod through feet missing red metal washer off end with small wrapping of string to keep foot from slipping off. Outer edge of each foot has .25x.75” dark area without orange paint. Also small rub of black off right side of head but o/w paint on wood and metal about 95% clean and glossy. Underside of metal seat has four prongs that probably once held a squeaking bellows mechanism, if bellows was part of this string arm version. Rare and displays VF.
