Item Description
"Flight Command" is a 1940 American film about a cocky US Navy pilot starring Robert Taylor, Ruth Hussey and Walter Pidgeon. "Flight Command" has the distinction of often being credited as the first Hollywood film glorifying the American military to be released after the outbreak of World War II in Europe, a year before the US entered the conflict. Offered is 4x7" single-sided card from the film's original release w/"Happy Landing! Wear This Good-Luck Aviator's Emblem!" text above 7/8" long by 1.25" wide silver metal figural airplane charm w/loop at rear of plane. Additional promotional text notes the involvement in the US Navy in the making of the MGM film as well as listing its stars. Bottom has "Riviera Theatre - Xmas Week" imprint at bottom. Card has all over faint age spotting and staple hole at top right and bottom center. Back has streak of glue staining, but this does not affect front's display, which remains Fine/VF. Very rare and the first we've offered in our 52 years. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
