Item Description
24.75x27.5" frame. Cotton textile is 17.75x20.75" w/light blue edging on three sides. Paper note sewn in lower field has hand written notation "Emblem Carried By Revolutionary Soldiers At A Harrison & Tyler Demonstration 1840" and is initialled at bottom right. Well flattened folds, scattered damp stains and foxing. VG. Not Examined out of frame. A historic and unique folk art banner connecting the soldiers who fought for our freedom to the important 1840 campaign. The 1840 Census accounted for over 6000 Revolutionary soldiers still drawing from the pension act of 1832.
