32x45". 1896. Two sided. "Protection & Prosperity/W. McKinley - G. A. Hobart." Hand-painted bright jugate portraits w/names highlighted by bright yellow accents. Eagle, flags and slogan add to the overall appeal. Painted on canvas, the overall gold background has darkened w/age. The reverse has black text painted on bold yellow fabric. The banner features the original red, white and blue rope and tassel accents along with original dowel and acorn shaped brass finials. Moderate handling and wrinkling to jugate side. VF. An exceptional example of turn of the century campaign banners and a cornerstone artifact in any collection.
