Item Description
4.5x6.5x10.75". Copyright 1918. Royal Staffordshire Pottery, Wilkinson, England. Designed by noted British political cartoonist Francis Carruthers Gould w/initials "FCG" on base. Part of a series of World War I personalities. Wilson is depicted in a suit w/striped pants and feathered headdress riding on a biplane. Text at bottom reads "Welcome! Uncle Sam." He is flanked by a US flag and presidential seal. Scattered traces of over glazed green paint loss at top of base. Otherwise Extremely Fine. Brightly colored and well executed whimsical design.
