Item Description
Original box bearing Official Boy Scout seal contains 1-7/8" dia. silver luster metal case w/dial featuring camping scene w/trees and tent. Ingersoll, 1930s. Box is complete w/small "Directions" paper slip and shows just lt. scattered corner tip wear. Bottom of box has some rubs but box remains VF overall. This is more desirable variety w/die-cut brass Scout symbol reading "Be Prepared" that revolves as second wheel and features hands that are sign posts, reading "Be Prepared" and "A Scout Is." These were issued in either yellow or brown; example offered here has brown arms. As minute hand revolves, it points to 12 attribute words printed on dial's outer edge, forming slogan, for example, "A Scout Is Trustworthy." Other variety has generic second wheel and hands. Case retains full bright luster and dial is totally clean and bright. Running and NM. High grade example still has Ingersoll cardboard tag w/"Boy Scout" text. Rare as boxed and even rarer w/tag.
