Item Description
Sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens utilized the head of Liberty from his William Tecumseh Sherman Victory Monument in New York City's Central Park and at the request of President Roosevelt Liberty's portrait features a feathered Native American headdress in place of the laurel wreath. The reverse eagle is derived from Saint-Gaudens associate Adolph Weinman design on the 1905 Inaugural medal. A nice example of this first year of issue ten dollar gold piece encapsulated by Professional Coin Grading Service.
