Item Description
10" tall (to the top of Cecil's head; 13" tall to the top of bulb socket) solid painted figural plaster lamp depicts Cecil coming up out of the water. Alert Lamp Company of Ocean Park, CA. 1951. Incised Bob Clampett copyright on backside of base. Felt present on underside. Original power cord present and lamp works. Lamp has some scattered paint flakes and touch-ups, mainly confined to base. Still displays Exc. overall. Comes w/6-7/8" tall by 12" dia. (at bottom) stiff paper shade w/great wraparound character illustrations of Beany, Capt. Huffenpuff, Dishonest John, Wong and Hunny Bear. © Bob Clampett and marked w/"Alert Lamp Co." name. Lamps hade has lt. even aging and some faint scattered spots of moisture. VF. One of the best vintage Beany & Cecil items produced.
