Item Description
Muchinsky pictures these in the 1.25" size  as #11 and 12 in his book with very similar photos. However, these are each 7/8" with first seen back papers on both. Papers' bottom has  smaller text "Buttons Made By The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark NJ" plus patent dates while upper larger text names "J. Geo. Hintz/734 Penn St./Reading, Pa." Apparently this local merchant used these as give-aways prior to the well publicized fight. Exc. Only pair known to us. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
