Item Description
5.75x5.75x3.5" deep box w/nicely illustrated lid label contains mostly celluloid toy, measuring 3.25" wide by 6" long by 5.25" tall. Toy features jointed celluloid figure on Mickey Mouse seated on oversized celluloid Pluto, who has large painted tin wheel between his front feet w/smaller painted tin wheels by his back feet. Larger wheel has built-in key and when wound, wheel turns, propelling toy forward while Pluto and Mickey move up and down as if galloping. Made in Occupied Japan by Masudaya, 1940s. Box shows moderate wear and lid has missing corner, splits and scattered moisture staining. VG. Pluto has overall fade but Mickey figure remains bright and clean. Some minor color touches to arm. Both Mickey and Pluto remain free of any cracks/dents. Professional repair to base of Pluto's tail. Fine overall. Scarce toy w/rare box.
