Item Description
9.5x13.5". Cover title translates to "Basketball League Championship." Printed in Madrid. 24 pages w/card stock cover. Contains the complete set of 206, these are not stickers like the following lots, but rather are on card stock, and each card is 1.75x3.25". All mounted at appropriate spots. The majority of the album features Spanish teams but with some players who also played in the NBA at some point in their career. These team pages include team photos as part of the page design. There is a two-page spread (15 cards) for the 1986 FIBA World Championship and USA/NBA player cards include: Muggsy Bogues, Kenny Smith and David Robinson. NBA players for other countries include Petrovic and Sabonis. The highlight of the album are two pages titled "NBA All-Star" and features 16 cards including - Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Julius Erving, Akeem Olajuwon and more (see complete list online). The final four pages have cards w/illustrations of referees and "official rules." Converse ad on back cover. Cover and pages have moderate handling wear, center two pages came loose from staples and now have small clear tape strips along spine, also added to several other pages at this area for additional reinforcement. Some tape strips do touch card margins that are mounted at this area but none of the key cards mentioned are impacted. Cover/pages VG to Fine. Cards have some scattered lt. traces of wear as mounted but overall present mostly as EX or better in appearance. Issued contemporary with the coveted 1986-87 Fleer set, but as one can imagine, in much lesser quantities making this a rare and exceptional item for the basketball card collector.
