Item Description
2x12x16.5" & 8x14x20". Both leather bags have "J. W. F." monograms. Largest retains "Delegation Of The United States Of America" fabric hanging tag w/hand written "J. W. Fulbright" and address in Washington DC. Largest bag has wear from heavy use and bears a "Cunard Line Stateroom Baggage" label w/hand written information noting travel on the ship "Britannic" traveling from "New York" to "London" on "June 17." Britannic was in use for Cunard between 1949 till 1960. This bag also retains two airline labels for "Braniff International" that operated between 1965-1982. Attaché has moderate wear from light use. These personal travel bags are truly unique artifacts of the Arkansas Senator behind the scholarship and grant awarding Fulbright Program promoting cultural diplomacy between the US and 160 nations around the world.
