Item Description
14x22" on cardboard by "T. J. Hayes Printing Co. New York City." Headlines "Re-Elect Governor/Lieut. Governor" respectively w/slogan along bottom edge. Slightest bump on upper right corners. Otherwise moderate even age toning and minor handling. Extremely Fine. A terrific pair w/powerful slogans for the future four time President.
Having experienced the Wall Street crash during his first term as Governor, FDR approached this re-election campaign continuing the themes of his 1928 campaign reiterating to voters that "Progressive Government By Its Very Terms Must Be A Living And Growing Thing" and calling for unemployment insurance as well as old-age pensions. The policies helped him stay put in the Governor's mansion and foreshadowed the programs he would later develop as President.
