Item Description
3.5x6.25". Belva A. Lockwood was the first female attorney to be admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar and argue before the court beginning in 1879. She is considered by many to be the first legitimate female candidate to run for President, due to Victoria Woodhull not being of legal age at the time of her run. Stiff card w/portrait front advertises Belva's 1884 nomination w/National Equal Rights Party text on reverse. Diagonal crease at left, almost undetectable bend at bottom right and pin holes top corners. VF. Rare.
