Item Description
Pair, each 6x8.5x1.25" deep box by Spear's Games c. 1930s. Each lid features linen-like paper label w/portrait art which is repeated on paper label attached to box bottom and serves as the game board. Each of these portraits include a three-dimensional hook nose as well as pair of metal hooks on which the rings were to be tossed. First is "Mike Murphy The New Ring Game" featuring a policeman. Lid has moderate scattered wear, 1.5x4" very ft. moisture stain at left center. VG. Game is complete w/four different colored cardboard rings. Interior game itself is Exc. Second is "Silly Sam Comic Quoits" featuring clown and although under a different name, identical to Mike Murphy. Lid has one corner split, lt. edge wear. VF. Also complete w/four different colored cardboard rings and game itself is Exc. Colorful and nice graphics.
