Item Description
Large 23.75" dia. brass plaque for display in Footaction shoe store's "walk of fame" (see Dan Marino plaque, lot #758), complete w/large star design w/athlete's name and facsimile signature. 1990s. Plaque honors Larry Bird, who played all 14 NBA seasons w/the Boston Celtics, being the 1980 NBA Rookie of the Year, a 3-time NBA champion, 2-time NBA Finals MVP, 3-time NBA MVP and 12-time NBA All-Star before going onto a career as a coach. Bird was inducted into the College Basketball HOF in 2006 and the Naismith Memorial Basketball HOF in 1998. His jersey number was retired by both his college (Indiana State) And the Celtics. Plaque shows wear from display, w/scuffs and scattered small areas of discoloration. VF overall and would make a great addition to any Celtics fan's collection.
