Item Description
15x23.75" silk flag. Hake #3005 and listed in Threads of History plate #529 on p.238. Canton features 38 stars arranged around bust portraits of candidates. Text "For President James G. Blaine For Vice President John A. Logan" and "1884" complete design along white stripes. Faint red ink stamp "Mastai Collection" at bottom left. Scattered holes most notably one just right of the "A" in "John A. Logan." Moisture stain along fly end. Technically VG but will frame to display above grade. Bold color and striking likenesses make this an exceptional display flag among the most impressive artifacts of the 1884 Republican ticket.
