Item Description
4x5x7.5" tall beautifully painted glazed ceramic with mark on underside for this Italian company. This company signed a contract with Disney in 1947 which lasted for about ten years. This particular piece is c. 1947. Great image of Joe holding cigar with band reading "Avana." Back of sombrero has about tree dozen pinpoint dots as molded. Rest of piece has some additional scattered pinpoint dots but all of these blend and are only noticeable when viewed closely. Figurine remains totally bright and glossy, Exc. All figurines produced by Zaccagnini are among the nicest ceramics ever produced and this is by far the best Joe Carioca figurine we've ever seen. All pieces by this company are rare.
