Item Description
2-3/8x5" to 8.5x11". Eight items in total. Four press photos from 1953 during MCarthy's Senate investigations into Communist infiltration into the highest levels of the U.S. government. Also included: a manuscript of Speech given by McCarthy in Carnegie Hall, as well as accompanying speech transcripts by Dean Clarence Manion and Sen. William E. Jenner; a postcard featuring a youthful-looking McCarthy, likely from his successful 1946 campaign; a ticket to the "Senator Joseph R. McCarthy Testimonial Dinner" held on November 13, 1954 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee; and a letter by Senator William F. Knowland to a constituent providing his rationale for declining to vote for the censure of Senator McCarthy-dated December 11, 1954. Press photos have moderate surface wear and two of the photos have glue stains that have seeped through from the descriptions adhered to the backs. VF to Exc. Speech manuscript has some age toning on right edge of the cover. Extremely Fine. Ticket, postcard, and signed Knowland letter all Exc. Great grouping of Joe McCarthy items.
