Item Description
First is 2.5" and others are 3", all w/curls naming NYC maker N. G. Slater. Ali's "Butterfly-Bee" quote dates to 1964 and his fight with Sonny Liston but this b/w button is more c. 1974. This is shortly followed by the 3" bw/rwb version with no date, and next (but not included in this lot of three) it appeared w/1978 date and text "Champ 3 Times", and finally it appears with 1980 date and text "Champ 4 Times", anticipating an Ali win over Larry Holmes which did not happen. All three are NM and scarce with the 1980 the scarcest. Paul Muchinsky Collection book photo examples #222, 220 and 254.
